As Executive Director of Faith Community Outreach Center, Dr. Iris Davis is satisfying the desire in her heart to help people. This desire, which has been within her from her childhood, is the driving force behind her efforts to do all she can to ensure that Faith Community Outreach does all it can to help women and children in need. An entrepreneur, Dr. Davis uses her business, Grapewheat Enterprises, to help families with a low or moderate income to obtain quality housing for low and moderate rent. As an entrepreneur, Dr. Davis is a member of the Georgia Coalition to End Homelessness, Inc.
Dr. Iris Davis is a retired educator of the State of Georgia. As an educator, she served on the secondary and post secondary levels. She also facilitated Business and Technology staff development courses for the Georgia Vocational Staff Development Consortium (GVDSCO), and has contributed to the Governor's Review Panel and Strategic Planning Team for Business and Technology (1999-2002). She also chaired a number of circurriculum review teams at the local and state level.
Dr. Davis is a born-again Christian and serves as co-pastor of Greater Faith Harvest COGIC, where her husband, Dr. John I Davis, Jr. serves as Senior Pastor. Her skills as an educator also extend to the Body of Christ. She serves as an instructor in Western Georgia Jurisdiction (COGIC) C. H. Mason Jurisdictional Institute. She also serves as Adjunct Professor at Bethany Divinity College and Seminary (Albany Campus).
Dr. Davis is the mother of five boys, and a devoted grandmother. She is also an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
